Bach: Violin And VoiceIn "Bach: Violin & Voice", Hilary Hahn records these passages exquisitely, sharing this album with soprano Christine Schäfer and baritone Matthias Goerne, both also renowned Bach exponents. Selections from such masterpieces as the St. Matthew Passion and the Mass in B minor are rendered with an unearthly beauty and a reverence that add to this recording's historical significance. In truth, this album features not two but three singers-the magical tone from Hahn's Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume conveys a beauty which can be attributed to a golden voice.

Frequent guest conductor Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos returns this season for two weeks of concerts. This first series features the young American violin virtuoso Hilary Hahn in Prokofiev’s alternately lyrical and witty Violin Concerto No. 1. Rimsky-Korsakov’s exotic Persian-tinged Scheherazade (inspired by Arabian Nights), is a breathtaking orchestral showpiece.
