MP3 Smallest file format which results in quicker download time. Ideal for any downloading via most internet connections. If you are new to digital music, and want something that is compatible with most computer and usage applications, then select MP3. MP3 will offer you a good balance between quality and compatibility. This format is ideal if you want to play the music on your computer, on a portable digital music device (ie: iPod or Zune), or you want to produce a near-CD quality playable CD. Near-CD quality means that the quality of the CD you produce will be almost as good as what you would buy in a store. MP3=PC AND MAC.
High-Definition Stereo Significantly larger than MP3 (10x larger) which results in a much longer download time. High-speed broadband internet connections should only be used to download this format. If you are an everyday digital music user and are well-versed with using digital music, and want something that is CD-quality or better-than-CD-quality, then the high-definition stereo option is good for you. This format allows you to play CD or better-than-CD quality music on your computer. In order to play this music on an portable digital music device or to burn a CD, you may need to convert what you have downloaded to a compatible format. The requirement to do this is based on what digital music player or CD burning software you are using. In the event you do need to convert the music, we strongly suggest you make a copy of the files that you downloaded so that you always have the originals to work from in the future. Please make sure that you purchase the right format for your computer: WMA=PC and AIFF=MAC.
High-Definition Surround Significantly larger than MP3 (25x larger) which results in a much longer download time. High-speed broadband internet connections should only be used to download this format. If you are an audiophile and are well-versed with high-definition digital audio, and have the equipment capable of playing high-definition surround files, then the high-definition surround format is good for you. Like the high-definition stereo format, you can convert this format to other formats for use on portable digital audio devices as well as to burn CDs, however, you will need to know the inner-workings of the digital music format so that you can compress five audio channels down into two (left and right). Your computer can do this automatically however, the quality of the end-product may not be as good as you would like. Remember, WMA Surround=PC.

The first three pieces, Symphonies 14, 18, and 20, were written when Mozart was only fifteen and sixteen years old. Symphonies Nos. 39 and 41, were composed in a whirlwind of creative fervor in a few weeks' time in the summer of 1788, and each is distinctly unique.

Mahler: Symphony No. 6
James Levine is known for having a strong command and awareness of the overlying architecture of large musical works while retaining all of the shimmer and subtlety of the details, and he does just that in this live recording of Mahler’s tragic Sixth Symphony. The live performances of this work from which this album is drawn, along with Levine’s other Mahler performances with the BSO, are widely considered some of the most exciting performances by the orchestra in recent years.
